Sherwin Barvarz, MD, is a Yale-trained, double board-certified interventional pain physician and anesthesiologist and the Founder and CEO of The Pain Institute of Los Angeles. He is also a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) in pain management and anesthesiology, with a clinical focus on restoring function and improving quality of life through evidence-based, minimally invasive treatments.

Dr. Barvarz graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA before earning his medical degree and completing his anesthesiology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York. He subsequently completed fellowship training in Pain Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, with an emphasis on comprehensive interventional pain management.

Dr. Barvarz treats personal injury and workers’ compensation patients experiencing neck, back, joint, neuropathic, and other acute or chronic pain conditions. His treatment options include epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, nerve blocks, spinal cord and peripheral nerve stimulation, PRP therapy, facet and joint interventions, and other minimally invasive procedures.
